In folk medicine, licorice root is used as a means of having a secretolytic, diuretic, laxative, expectorant effect; recommended for inflammation of the respiratory tract, stomach ulcers, hemorrhoids (used as a decoction: 1-2 teaspoons of crushed root pour a glass of water, boil for 15 minutes; daily dose).

Dosage and application
About 8 g (2 tablespoons) of the roots are placed in an enamel container and poured with 200 ml (1 cup) of chilled boiled water, close with a lid and heat. Boil for 30 minutes in a water bath. The decoction was cooled to room temperature for 10 minutes, filtered and filtered. The volume of the resulting decoction should be up to 200 ml.

Take orally: adults and children over 12 years - 1 tablespoon 3-4 times a day, children from 5 to 12 years - 1 dessert spoon 3-4 times a day, children from 3 to 5 years - from 1 dessert spoon 2 -3 times a day, children from 1 year to 3 years - 1 teaspoon 2-3 times a day.
The course of treatment is 2-3 weeks.

Contraindications
Long-term use of licorice is undesirable, as it may upset the electrolyte-water balance (this will lead to swelling). Contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women.
