Fenugreek, Whole Seed

Trigonella foenum-graecum L.

The whole seeds are germinating, for delicious sprouts

Application: In pellagra - deficiency of vitamin PP, in diabetes (as aiding means), in lung disease, bronchitis, in slowly healing wounds.

Effect: Stimulates the metabolism, lowers blood sugar levels. Improves the appetite. Restores power of the body. Increases lactation.

Externally: In some skin diseases - boils, open sores. To increase the milk in nursing mothers.

Directions: * For internal use – prepare infusion of 3 teaspoons of crushed seeds with 600 ml of boiling water. After percolation drink 200 ml 3 times daily.

* For external use – to prepare decoction of 1 tablespoon of the herb and 250 ml of water, boil for 10 minutes to obtain a pap. Spread on lint (poultice) and apply on the affected area.
