Later, steam-powered equipment allowed some production of cocoa powder in 1850. Every year, people around the world consume nearly 4.5 million tons of cocoa. The most common form of cocoa that people use is cocoa powder. It is easy to use and can add flavor to any dish.

Cocoa beans produce cocoa powder obtained from the plant Theobroma cacao L. Chocolate is primarily made from cocoa beans, but can also be made from cocoa powder.

Cocoa powder is a nutrient-dense food that contains a high concentration of minerals.

How to use Cocoa powder

You can add cocoa to your favorite recipe for: sweets, healthy smoothies, homemade puddings such as chia breakfast puddings or rice pudding, chocolate milkshakes, health bars, hot cocoa drink and more.

Recipe for Traditional hot drink with cocoa
Cocoa - 1 teaspoon
Sugar - 2-3 teaspoons
Water - 250 ml

First you need to add a few tablespoons of warm water to a mixture of cocoa and granulated sugar and mix everything thoroughly in a small saucepan. There should be no lumps in the resulting porridge. Then you can gradually add the rest of the water, remembering to stir. Remove the pan from the heat only after the sugar has completely dissolved in the liquid.

You can add to the cocoa, a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg, pink pepper, vanilla, black pepper and other spices, according to your preferences.

Recipe for Vegan Chocolate Banana Shake (2 servings):
Coconut milk - 1 tea cup
Cocoa powder (unsweetened) - 2 tablespoons
Avocado (peeled) - 1/2 fruit
Bananas (frozen) - 2 pieces

In a blender, mix all ingredients in the order listed. Close the lid and set the lowest speed. Gradually increase the speed to high. Blend for 30 seconds or until perfectly smooth.
Serve immediately in 1 or 2 large glasses.
Tip: Add a teaspoon of agave nectar or a chopped date to increase the sweetness. For the best chocolate flavor, use high quality unsweetened cocoa powder.
