Native American Essiac Tea - A natural remedy with powerful herbal ingredients

Indian Essiac Tea is a well-known herbal formula, but enriched with Red Clover. Created by Canadian nurse Renee Kays, inspired by the traditional recipes of the Ojibway Indians. This combination of natural ingredients has been used to support the immune system, detoxify the body and improve overall health.
At the heart of this unique tea are five powerful herbs - burdock, sheep sorrel, red clover, slippery elm and Turkish rhubarb. Each has its own specific health benefits, and together they create a synergistic effect that stimulates the body's natural defense mechanisms.

Ingredients of Indian Essiac Clover Tea and their benefits

Burdock root (Burdock, Arctium lappa)

Burdock root is a staple in the Essiac recipe and is known for its strong detoxifying properties. Burdock supports the work of the liver and kidneys, facilitating the removal of toxins from the body. It contains numerous antioxidants, including quercetin and phenolic acids, which help neutralize free radicals and slow down the aging process. In addition, burdock has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, making it useful for skin problems such as acne and eczema. The use of burdock root in Essiac tea helps to improve digestion and aid circulation while providing a general toning of the body.

Sheep sorrel stem and root (Sheep Sorrel, Rumex acetosella)

Sheep sorrel is a plant that is rich in vitamins and minerals such as vitamin C, iron and calcium. Essiac tea uses both the stem and the root of the plant to make the most of its medicinal properties. Sheep sorrel is known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that help purify the blood and lymphatic system. It also stimulates the immune system and aids in the elimination of toxins from the body, benefiting general health and supporting the fight against infection. Sheep sorrel is one of the most important ingredients in Essiac because of its ability to support detoxification and cellular repair.

Red clover flower and stem (Red Clover, Trifolium pratense)

Red clover is known for its blood-purifying properties and is rich in flavonoids, which play a role in supporting the cardiovascular system. It is used in traditional medicine to reduce inflammation and improve skin conditions. Red clover also has antioxidant properties and can assist the body in detoxification processes. Thanks to the isoflavones it contains, it has hormone-regulating effects, which can be useful for women in menopause. In combination with the other ingredients of Essiac tea, red clover contributes to the overall purification of the body and improvement of vital forces.

Bark of Slippery Elm (Slippery Elm, Ulmus rubra)

Slippery elm is an herb known for its soothing and protective properties on the digestive and respiratory systems. The inner bark of the plant contains mucilagin, which forms a gel-like layer on contact with water. This makes it excellent for protecting the lining of the gastrointestinal tract and for relieving conditions such as gastritis, ulcers and acid reflux. Slippery elm also has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, making it suitable for soothing inflamed tissues and treating coughs and throat irritations. In Essiac tea, slippery elm supports not only digestion, but also the overall health of the respiratory system.

Turkish rhubarb root (Rhubarb, Rheum palmatum)

Turkish rhubarb is a powerful detoxifying agent that stimulates the liver and intestines. The root of this plant has a laxative effect, which helps to improve the digestive function and rid the body of accumulated toxins. In addition, Turkish rhubarb contains active ingredients that help regulate cholesterol and maintain liver health. In Essiac tea, rhubarb supports the digestive system by stimulating the intestines and facilitating the natural detoxification process.
