Alkanna tinctoria
Dyers' bugloss – dry mass Alcanna tinctoria. Supplement.
Dyers' bugloss is a perennial herbaceous plant, thriving in dry and stony places, rarely found (in Bulgaria in the regions of Elhovo, Harmanli, Svilengrad and valley of Struma river).
Effect: Vasoconstrictor, reducing itching and antibacterial.
For non-healing wounds: outward ointment – prepare a mixture of 1 teaspoon finely grinded drugs and 100-150 g mutton fat or olive oil. Ointment should be kept in a dark place for 10 days before use.
Outward usage for: dislocations, bruises, exostosis, rheumatism, urinary incontinence, fatty lumps, boils, burns and more.
Preparation: The contents of the package should be tightened in cheese-cloth and fried in 250 g mutton fat for 4-5 minutes. The damaged areas are treated or rubbed with thus prepared ointment.
