Uzara root is an active component of many homeopathic remedies. Uzar root extract was included in the currently popular eponymous drug for the treatment of diarrhea in children - Uzar syrup. The active substances of this herbal preparation (phytosterols, glycosides, etc.) have a stimulating effect on the sympathetic nervous system, due to which intestinal motility weakens and stools return to normal. Uzar syrup acts gently, unlike synthetic preparations with a similar action, does not cause side effects - constipation, nausea and is approved for use by children from 1 year. Uzar syrup is also recommended for use by children in changing weather conditions during travel. In specific infectious diarrhea, uzar may be an adjunctive therapeutic agent.

Thanks to the whole complex of active components contained in the root extract of uzar, including glycosides, phytosterols, tannins, etc., it regulates intestinal motility, contributing to the soft and rapid elimination of diarrhea. Stimulates the sympathetic nervous system, which leads to weakening of intestinal motility and normal bowel movements. Uzara acts gently and its use does not lead to the development of such a side effect as constipation, the development of which is possible when taking synthetic motor regulators. In addition, the drug has antispasmodic, antisecretory, astringent and enveloping effect, which further contributes to the normalization of stool, as well as to reduce abdominal pain.

Contraindications and side effects

Uzar-based drugs are not recommended for individual intolerance and tendency to allergic reactions. It is contraindicated in women during pregnancy and lactation and children from 1 year. Concomitant use of uzar and cardiac glycosides, diuretics, calcium, quinidine, cortisone preparations leads to cardiac arrhythmias.
