It is usually found on the continent of South America. It is 30 times sweeter than sugar and is a non-caloric sweetener that does not affect blood sugar. Therefore, stevia replaces sugar, high fructose corn syrup and other artificial sweeteners.

The sweetness of stevia is due to the compounds present in the leaves, namely steviol glycoside, which has two main components: rebaudioside A and stevioside.
Stevia is rich in flavonoids and terpenes. Steviol glycosides are partially metabolized in the body and absorbed in the upper gastrointestinal tract, stomach, and small intestine.

The leaves of the herb also contain protein, fiber, carbohydrates, iron, phosphorus, calcium, potassium, sodium, magnesium, zinc, rutin (flavonoid), real vitamin A, vitamin C.

Stevia white vs stevia leaf powder

Stevia and stevia leaf powder may sound the same, but they are not the same at all.
Stevia, the white powder sold as an alternative sweetener, is made from refined powdered stevia leaves. It is deprived of most of its nutrients and has retained only its sweetening effect.
Stevia leaf powder is simply dried pure stevia leaves ground into a powder. It has a sweet taste like refined stevia, but less intense and has a lot more nutrients.
As an example, 100g of organic stevia leaf powder can sweeten about 6kg of protein powder. In contrast, 100g of refined stevia sweetens about 40-60kg of protein powder.

Beneficial action of stevia

Antihyperglycemic – has the ability to increase pancreatic cell activity, insulin sensitivity, and promotes insulin production and utilization. It helps in the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

How to use Stevia powder natural

Culinary purpose: To flavor and sweeten hot and cold drinks, coffee, tea, shakes, desserts, baked goods.
The natural herb Stevia does not change its taste and qualities during heat treatment.

1/4 tsp. stevia = approx. 1 tbsp. sugar

Infusion for internal and external use: 1 tsp. herb is poured with 600 ml of boiling water, steeped for 30 min. The tea is drunk three times a day, on an empty stomach before meals.
