Used in cooking: Mahaleb is extremely popular spice in Arabic cuisine; prepare a special sort of cherries and just that smells of cherries. However, it might notice a slightly bitter taste similar to bitter almond. In the Middle East is used for the preparation of bakery products, and in European and American cuisine - for Christmas cookies and cakes.

Mahaleb is mostly for baking spice suitable for pasta casseroles. Fruit flavored mahaleb would expand the traditional recipe for creme brulee or in any recipe that you can enrich with a fruity aroma and taste of cherries and almond.

Aromatic spice is very suitable for sprinkling with cheese tart. Egyptian pastry cook delicious dessert sesame, honey, olive oil and very little mahaleb that discreetly reminds himself. This paste can be used for filling and delicious rolls.
