Action: Catnip is an herb that is used in trouble sleeping (insomnia), anxiety, migraine and other types of headaches, colds and other infections of the upper respiratory tract, flu, intestinal parasites, urticaria, digestive disorders, including indigestion, colic , retention of intestinal gas and bloating. Catnip is applied also to stimulate diuresis (urine output during the day), and for inducing of menstrual periods.

Preparation: For tea from catnip use two teaspoons of dried leaves of the herb brewed with 600 ml of boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes. The herb is not cooked in boiling water, only brewed. Strain. The prepared tea drink two to three times a day.

The dried herb can be placed in muslin handkerchief tied the purse in basements and closets, against rodents.
