Eleutherococcus, Siberian Ginseng, Root 

Eleuterococcus senticosus

Effect: Stimulates the immune system. Tonic, supportive, strong immune stimulator. Increases blood flow to the brain, stimulating potency. Improves visual acuity, night vision.

Indications: Stress, exhaustion, neurosis, menopausal symptoms, night blindness.

Usage: Prepare infusion of 2 teaspoons of the herb and 500 ml of boiling for 15 minutes, strain and drink 200 ml morning and afternoon / not evening/.

Ginseng has a beneficial effect against diabetes. In a study of people, afflicted by diabetes of the second type it is firmly established that at 100-200 mg intake of ginseng daily level of sugar in the blood decreases. This naturally makes it unsuitable for people with hypoglycemia.

The root of ginseng is recommended as an supplement in treatment of cardiovascular diseases, heart failure and hypertension. In his memoirs, the first Russian Nobel laureate in literature Ivan Bunin says that when visiting the sick Maxim Gorky on the Italian island of Capri, Gorky took from the cupboard a bottle of tincture of ginseng root and told Bunin that he lives and not dies only because of constantly drinking this miraculous beverage.

In fact, ginseng is a collective name for a group of plants known since ancient times :
Eleutherococcus senticosus (Siberian ginseng) ;
Panax quinquefolium (American ginseng) ;
Panax ginseng (Korean or Chinese ginseng) ;
Panax japonicum (Japanese ginseng) .

Korean or Chinese ginseng (Panax ginseng) is the most widely used type of ginseng.

How to take ginseng? Most experts recommend doses of 1 or 2 grams of dry root Panax ginseng or 200 mg extract (with concentration of 4 to 7%) daily for 15-20 days, followed by a month break in adoption.

Administration of Eleutherococcus senticosus is usually in doses of 2 to 3 grams of dry root or 300 to 400 mg of dry extract per day. Pattern of intake is the same - 15-20 days, followed by a month of break.
