Application: Recommended for gout, acute and chronic composed rheumatism, acute attacks of gout, acute and chronic febril bronchitis, gallstones and biliary dyskinesia.
Effect: Antirheumatic and antipyretic. Strong anti-inflammatory, highly astringent, antifebril, diuretic, sweating and analgesic (in neuralgia, headache) effect.
Description: Willow grows along rivers, marshy places and streams. It is also found in the mountains. Reaches a height of 30 m and diameter of 1.5 m. Its leaves are strongly elongated and stripped at the edges. They are silvery and thready, with long handles. Has a large central root and strongly developed thick lateral roots. From the young willow branches is obtained substance called salicyl what produces aspirin.
External application: For baths in sweating of the feet, skin diseases, for applying on boils, for rinsing the mouth and for gargle in gingivitis and tonsillitis.
Directions: In the form of a infusion - Pour 2 cups of cold water on 1 teaspoon finely shredded bark and leave it aside for 8 hours. Drink in 1 day. As tea for rinsing the mouth (3 parts bark of willow and 2 parts lime flowers) - pour a cup of boiling water over 2 tablespoons of the mixture for 15-20 minutes. Strain through cheesecloth. Use several times daily.
