The people of India used the resin from Boswellia, ( Indian incense ) for arthritis, diarrhea, dysentery, lung diseases, and parasitic worms. Over the last decade, extensive studies have been undertaken to better understand the effects of Boswellia serrata. The results of these studies indicate that the acids contained in the Indian incense are very effective in rheumatic diseases and are safe.
