Populus Alba
Application: In temperature, pain, inflammation.
Effect: The bark of the willow and poplar have useful properties to reduce fever, pain and inflammation. This is due to the fact that in the bark of these trees is contained natural salicin - a potent analgesic agent, which is a component of the well known aspirin.
Taste of the inner bark of poplar is bitter and vaguely reminiscent of the taste of true aspirin.
Description: White poplar (Populus Alba) is a tree up to about 25 meters hight, the young twigs and buds are densely, leaves are up to 12 cm long, palmate cut, dark green from above, densely stapled from below. Flowers are gathered in catkins, the seeds are small, pear-shaped with steples. It is found along rivers in the lower and middle mountain region up to 1000 m altitude.
Directions: The easiest way is to be taken internally - by chewing the bark and drink water altogether.
If you do not want to chew this bitterness, you can boil a tablespoon of bark in 200-250 ml of water, leave it to cool for 10-15 minutes and drink it.
